An Inclusive Center of Education and Engagement in Hillsborough

Our Snow Approach Foundation location serves as a community gathering space for learning and connection. At this multi-use facility, we offer a wide range of meaningful activities and life-enriching opportunities, specifically designed to support neurodiversity. Our gathering place is unique in that that it is intentionally embedded in the fabric of downtown Hillsborough, rather than being sequestered or isolated. Snow Approach Foundation programming is specifically designed to improve quality of life for individuals and their care partners in the community, by offering educational resources, support, increased access to lifelong interests, socialization opportunities, and more.

Supporting Our Mission

Snow Approach Foundation does not charge a direct fee for the services offered to the community. Instead, we rely on donations from those who support our mission and goals. We believe that finances should not be a barrier to receiving social engagement, education, or support.

We are currently seeking financial and volunteer support from individuals and organizations to enable us to continue to provide educational and engagement opportunities for our community.

Brain Connection Cafés

Mondays: 3-4:30pm
Fridays: 10:30am-12pm

Our Brain Connection Cafés aim to provide these three aspects for anyone attending: the opportunity to laugh at least once, engage in something you otherwise may not have, and experience social interaction.

During our Brain Connection Cafés, those living with brain change, their care partners, and community volunteers work together to exercise our brains and bodies. We all utilize our skills and abilities in a variety of activities and feel valued for our contributions. We also have time to chat while enjoying food together!

Are you curious? Come and experience it for yourself. These events are completely complimentary and accessible. Please just let us know you’re coming by sending an email to info@snowapproach.com or leaving us a message at 984-766-7669.

If you would like to donate to help keep these events accessible for the community, click the link below. Or, become a Sustaining Partner by setting up a monthly donation.

Educational Support Groups

Mondays: 2-3pm
Fridays: 9:30-10:30am

This is a special time for learning and sharing together.

We have two groups meeting at the same time (in different rooms). You can join whichever best meets your needs:

  1. Care Partner Educational Support Group
  2. Changing Brains Support Group for people living with brain changes including a combination of activities and conversations

Both groups offer the opportunity to ask questions of an expert and the chance to receive some skills training. Care partners may attend even if the person they’re supporting does not currently attend the Brain Connection Cafés. If this is your first visit, please let us know you’ll be attending by sending an email to info@snowapproach.com or leaving us a message at 984-766-7669.

Exercise for Brain Health

Mondays: 1:30-2pm
Fridays: 9-9:20am

We believe that moving and strengthening your body is important for your brain health and overall well-being. This is a chance to join others in community for a fun and engaging time to exercise. This time is just before our Educational Support Groups and Brain Connection Cafés, so you can come early to exercise, then stay after to participate in these other programs.

Consulting Services

Living with brain change or neurodiversity can be challenging – not just for the person who has the condition, but for those supporting them, as well. Unfortunately, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all instruction manual!

When you’re experiencing challenges, talking things through with someone who’s knowledgeable can be very helpful. Together you can explore what’s working, what could use a change, and come up with new ideas to try. While we can’t change neurocognitive conditions, we can develop new awareness, knowledge, and skills to continue to so that you can continue the journey together and find moments of joy along the way.

If you would like to connect with one of our team members, join us for a complimentary 30- minute initial consultation so we can determine how we may best support you.
